I just read it again and got more out of it the 2nd time. It's already inspired me to go back over HoH2 and read and re-read a lot of the main points until they're imprinted into my memory. One of the best tournament poker posts/essays i've ever read actualy

Wow, GL, I'm humbled. Really.
TK, I'm off tomorrow, so I'm going to rewrite it, adding some stuff and making it into a real article and submit it to tits for consideration. Thanks for the read.

I play exclusively NL, and I'm really thinking about going through Theory of Poker again...it's so stupidly true that we should reread our books every few months and we'll learn more from the SAME words each time!

I just read this article for the first time and even though I'm quite late to the discussion I wanted to comment.
I think Godlike had the perfect word to describe this: inspirational. Seriously, an excellent description of a poker player's journey, so to speak. If a friend of mine expresses an interest in starting to play poker, this is what I will make him read.
I myself am still quite at the beginning of the curve - read a couple books (Small Stakes Holdem & Theory of Poker), played 4-5 months (maybe 4 hours a week).
I fully intend to keep reading the two books over and over again, but I've also gained a huge amount of knowledge lurking here, reading the discussions and articles posted by people considerably higher up on the curve than myself. Hopefully one day I will also be able to contribute something of use!
