Well just as i knew it would happen... it happened. After 4-5 sessions of basically no cards or pocket pairs today.... i had a frickin' barrage of PP's in 5 hours.
KK - 2
JJ - 3
99 - 8
88 - 5
77 - 2
66 - 4
44 -2
33 -1
I also hit 6 sets today. Unfortunately i never made it to the flop for 2 of the sets due to reraises and 2 of them i made absolutely no money on.
3-5 NL
First hand of the day i'm dealt i get AK in the CO and i raise to 25. 2 callers.
Flop - A-K-3, 2 hearts.
I bet 50, button calls
Turn -
I check button bets 50 i min raise to 100. Button calls.
River - blank
I check, button checks and shows
for the flush. I played this pretty badly and am already down a quick $175. Nice.
So than i decide instead of reloading i'm going to try to play the short stacked strategy that Iceman posted with $125.
But after winning a couple pots with marginal hands i was back up to $250 and had to forgo that strat.
In a limped pot with 66 UTG, the flop came 10-10-6 with 2 clubs. Unfortunately it got checked to the river of which i couldn't bet since the 3rd 10 came. Won a grand total of $14 on that hand. Awesome.
Than about 15 minutes later i caught fire.
Hand #1
On the button i have KK. I raise to $35, 2 callers.
Flop ~ K-6-2r
Checks around
Turn ~ 4, checks to me, i bet $35, everyone folds. Bah.
Hand #2
In the CO i have 77. MP raises to $25, 2 callers, i call.
Flop A-J-7r.
MP checks, next player bets $50, i smooth call, MP check raises all in for $170 total. Original better folds i call and beat his AK.
Hand #3
In the CO+1 i have 99. I limp Button raises to $30 and one caller in MP. I consider mucking it here because what are the chances of hitting 3 sets in a row? But i say forget it and throw in $25 more.
Flop:
MP checks, i check, Button bets $100. MP goes all in for about $200. Button only has about $120 left so i push all in.
Right when i push MP asks me, "you have a straight?". And than i have to remind him that there is still another person in the hand (he was a young asian guy who constantly was trying to guess other players hands out loud - he also was trying to get too cute with some of his hands).
Anyways the button thinks and thinks and thinks and shows me his 88 with a spade and finally folds. After he folds i turn to the young guy and say, "set over set right?"
Than he curses and says yep and shows his set of 7's.
River came 9 to give my quads. It was just unfortunate that for the most part the table was short stacked and i couldn't really win a whole lot.
I just wish i wasn't so stinkin' tired. I was playing well and i had good control of the table. I had 2 players at the table fold vastly superior hands to me when i bet and basically any check raise i made i got a fold.
Anyways i ended up the session up $620 in 5 hours. I am kind of bummed because if this would have been a good table it couple have easily been a $2K+.
February
Sessions: 7-2 (5W in a row)
Win/Loss: $2133
Player on why he called a reraise: "Well what am i supposed to do with good cards like these? I keep getting K-10 and K-J. "
