I can't see much else he could've been drawing to except the straight, so I think folding is probably correct here. Even though it's only a small bet it's pretty hard to imagine you being ahead here unless this guy is very bad. $20 on the river when that card hits screams of a begging letter (milking bet) and I think even though it's pretty galling, you have to lay this down now. He called a double bet on the flop, then a pot sized raise on the turn. He can only have had a draw, and the only likely one seems to be the straight. I think the Q wasn't a good card for you and it seems very likely he's hit here. calling $20 into a $100 pot is very tempting so I don't think it's terrible, but lately I'm working really hard on NOT paying off those river bets when you basically know you're behind but get seduced by apparent good pot odds. It seems to really be working for me, so it's a good habit to get into when you REALLY can't put him on any hand other than a winning draw.

This looks like a similar situation that happens to me in limit holdem. When a scare card hits the turn or river, people bet out to try to get you to fold. I've often found that calling them on the river or raising them on the turn gets you the win or gets more money from them. Not sure what I would have done, but this bet could either be a value bet of a straight or he tried to bet it like he KNEW you didn't want to see it and didn't want to risk too much money on his bluff.
